Did you know crabgrass germinates when soil temps reach 55 degrees, three days in a row? Now you do. 😃 May 1st is usually when we start seeing those temps in southern MN. If you are planning on using a pre-emergent such as pendimethalin, prodiamine, dithiopyr, you'll want to start getting ready to apply these. Don't forget to water after application with about 1/2" to 1" to ensure the herbicide gets to the soil versus staying on the foliage.
